Say Yes to "NO"

Say Yes to "NO"

One little syllable. Two, tiny letters. Yet there are some people who would rather cross burning sand than utter that sound. Even for people who can say “no,” it doesn’t always come easily – Psychology Today

In a world full of diversities., it is natural to have a universe inside it that is vastly filled with different perspectives, point of views, interests, dislikes, mindsets, virtues and principles. A black for me can be a white for you, a summer for me can be a winter for you, a coffee for me can be an ice tea to you and a "YES" to me can be a "NO" to you.

Empathy"
Every person from all walks of life has his own set of mantras and perceptions about things. We should keep in mind that someone’s personality is highly affected by his society and the cultures embedded on it. Filipinos are known to be hospitable. We tend to make our visitors feel that they are warmly welcome in our house and in our country, that’s why we are prominent to being very friendly not just to our fellow countrymen but also to the other nationalities. We always greet each other with "Hi!", "Hello!", "Mare, kumusta na?","Long time no see!", ”Kain na!”,” Mabuhay!” and those are just the few set of examples of how we aspire to make other people feel good about us, simply because we always put ourselves on their shoe. I bet, no one will disagree if I’ll say that we can even surrender our food just for our visitors not to be hungry. Filipinos are like that. Yes, we are always like that.

Utang na Loob
Even if we always wanna make others feel good, there will always be those instances in which we really wanna say "No" but we can't just say it because we wanted to please them; it is just that, we find it difficult to refuse.  We believe that if we always please them then they will do the same for us not knowing that we are being bounded not with friendship but with "utang na loob", no wonder why it’s always present in the system of our society. It’s actually not BAD to say no sometimes, or in times when we really need to. It is an indicator that everything must be within limits and chances are finite. People, always place in mind that there are always TWO choices. For the infinite times that someone will ask you a favor, don’t forget that in every "YES" there is a “NO”.

(PS: This is just a reminder, lol)
